3. Common problems and failures of J05E

Turn over the water tank/flush the cylinder gasket

Reasons: The cylinder head is uneven, the cylinder liner sinks, and the body is deformed.

Treatment: The cylinder head must be ground, the original cylinder gasket must be replaced, and the cylinder liner boss must be inspected.

Difficulty starting/unsteady idling

Common: carbon deposits on the fuel injector, low fuel pressure, glow plug failure

Powerless/holding the car/black smoke

Mostly: air filter clogged, EGR carbon deposit, turbine failure, poor fuel injection

High water temperature

Check: thermostat, water pump, radiator, belt, fan clutch
